Hello everyone and welcome to another blog post, todays topic is… Who I think could play Marvel characters yet to be used in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Yup that’s right, I am going to throw in my opinion about some characters that haven’t appeared yet. I am very surprised they haven’t, I mean its not like Marvel are struggling in the box office but the below can only cement another further 10 years of great Marvel movies.
Blade – Mahershala Ali

Blade is one of my all-time greats. I loved the first Blade movie and thought the second was ok and the third… well the third could have had a much better storyline. The cast was there but it was just not its best Blade outing.

Someone I think is announcing himself as one of the best actors in the world is Mahershala Ali. Awesome in Green Book, Sinister in Luke Cage, Creepy in Alita: Battle Angel and incredible in Moonlight. He would bring so much life to the character that I think is needed to play the half vampire/human Blade.

Not only his acting chops but his literal chops, he has the look of blade, the same sort of hair style as it is now and I think if we are going like for like, he is pretty damn close. He might even be a real-life Blade, who knows? Think of the luck, an actor who looks like Blade and can actually really act, would be an awesome addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I loved Wesley Snipes and wish he had a better storyline to follow as Blade and would love him to come back in someway and pay homage to his character but I think the one now is Mahershala Ali.
Adam Warlock – Alexander Skarsgård

Adam Warlock was teased at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. but never made an actual appearance on screen, he was just in an encased golden shell. So that being said… Marvel… look no further than Alexander Skarsgård to finally bring him to life.

He played such a huge part in the infinity war storyline in the comics that it is basically criminal that he hasn’t taken any part in the build-up to End Game but I will save that rant for a different post, now back to Alexander Skarsgård.

A guy who again looks just like Adam Warlock and is pretty darn good at acting. He has acted in action movies so is no stranger to the stunt side of things required in Marvel movies. The age is just right for Adam Warlock, not to young and not to old so he will believable in that role.
Alexander Skarsgård can bring Adam Warlock to life and I think he would do an excellent job at portraying him.
Spider-Woman – Emma Roberts

Yup I am a Emma Roberts fan and I think she would do an awesome job as Spider-Woman. She has been acting since 2001 and since she is only 28, that’s a long old time.

No stranger to the movie world which would benefit her in this role.
She would fit right in to the Spider-man world but I am one for her to have her own introduction and possibly her standalone movie.

Captain Marvel is coming to our screens in March, it’s about time we put more female superheroes in their own movies and not just featuring.
Worked wonders for Wonder-Woman and Spider-Woman is one of many female super heroes that have the ability to work in a stand alone movie that Marvel has in its arsenal. Time to start pulling the trigger.
Emily Roberts is a fantastic actor and would bring that special something to Spider-Woman’s character. She 100% gets the thumbs up from me.
Nova – Richard Madden

This is what I would love to see, I think Nova is powerful enough to have his own origin story as an introduction. The Nova Corps, just like Adam Warlock, were introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy and are the intergalactic police force. Nova was absent from this and is yet to make his onscreen debut.

Richard Madden has blown people away with his portrayal of Sergeant David Budd in BBC’s Bodyguard and if Game of Thrones didn’t put him on the map this definitely has. Again, no stranger to the physical aspects of a Marvel movie, he is more than capable of pulling his weight.

His acting ability has been proven on the small screen but yet to blow people away on the big screen. He played the prince in Disney’s live action portrayal of Cinderella and is also starring in the upcoming biopic about the life of Elton John, ‘Rocketman’.
He also has done quite a bit of theatre acting so there is no questioning his ability to act, just whether he can in what would be such a large role in Marvel’s cinematic universe.
My personal opinion is hell yeah Richard Madden can and he would do an epic job.
She-Hulk – Jennifer Connelly

Age matters to me here because does she or does she not look like Jennifer Walters the human form of She-Hulk? The answer is yes.

No doubt in my mind can she act, she has an academy award to prove it. Also, she may need to star as She-Hulk to wash the 2003 Hulk out her system.
I am a huge fan of hers and think she would bring justice to the character, she is a strong-willed woman who has the knowledge of the industry that will transfer into her character a strong willed She-Hulk.

I think someone closer to Mark Ruffalo’s age is far more believable than having a 20 something year old as his on-screen cousin. Connelly is 3 years younger than him and far more believable.
Marvel, I say to you again, GET THIS DONE. The fact She-Hulk hasn’t popped up yet is a disappointment don’t let Jennifer Connelly pass you by! She’s bloody married to vision in real life for good sake, there’s your in!
Namor the Submariner – Luke Evans

Namor is a pretty serious character and seems a bit older, he does rule Atlantis after all. I think Luke Evans would be perfect for this role. He is the right age demographic and has the serious acting abilities I feel is needed.

He is no slouch in front of the camera either, acting credits in all three ‘The Hobbit’ instalments and a great performance in Professor Marston & The Wonder Woman, he is certainly up to the task.

Namor is an in between character, he at times plays well with others and other times he prefers to go solo. His kingdom comes above all else and is not afraid of raging war against the surface. Something I think Luke Evans could make believable and bring this interesting character to life.
Get it done Marvel and let’s get Namor up and running in the form of Luke Evans.
Well those are my picks for the next batch of marvel characters I think need to come to the big screen. X-Men have purposely been left off as I will do a separate post for who I think could play each character if they reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Who would you have chosen? What characters do you want to see hit the big screen? Let me know and let’s talk about it.

I would have picked Alexander Skarsgard as Namor. He played Tarzan so I could totally see him bossing people around while wearing only swimming trunks.
